WALKING, HIKING & CLIMBING THE GORGE
There are more enticing paths and trails per user in the Gorge than arguably any place else in the world and a pedestrian/bike path (the Columbia River Highway State Trail) is in the works that will eventually connect Portland to The Dalles. Several sections have been completed, several are under construction, and all sales of property along the proposed pathway will require the new owners to develop the path.

Each year Friends leads 60+ Gorge hikes open to the public. Friends' Spring Hiking Season runs from March-June, and the Fall Hiking Season from Sept.-Oct. Destinations range from tried-and-true trails to hidden gems, including hikes and tours on Friends' Land Trust properties, some not yet open for public use. All hikes require registration. |
