TOURING THE GORGE BY RAILTrain excursions, including brunch and dinner trains, are listed on our site under "Happenings".
The Mt. Hood Railroad, running south from Hood River to the community of Dee, was built in 1906. It was extended in 1909 to the community of Parkdale, which is the "end of the line" today. It's original purpose was the movement of agricultural and wood products, but today it moves sightseers on excursions through the scenic Hood River Valley and the Mt. Hood foothills.
