MT. HOOD/PARKDALE
The community of Mt. Hood is a tiny unincorporated town about three miles northeast of the other small town of Parkdale. Mt. Hood/Parkdale has come to refer to any of the area between Highway 35 on the west and the Dee Highway on the east at the foot of Mt. Hood. The Post Offices of the two communities were consolidated in 1976 but the towns still maintain quite separate identities.
Close to Mt. Hood, the community, is the Hood River Ranger District station. In Parkdale are the southern terminus of the
Mt. Hood Railroad, and the
Hutson Museum.
