LYLE, WASHINGTON

The appealing small town of Lyle, located on Highway 14 toward the eastern end of the scenic Columbia River Gorge, is rich in history and natural beauty.  With the Klickitat River to the east and the Columbia River along its southern edge, Lyle has been a fishing and water sports destination since its inception in the late 1800's.

Once a bustling center for the timber industry and sheep ranching, Lyle today is popular for hiking, boating, fishing and windsurfing.  The historic Lyle Hotel remains, serving excellent food and offering a quiet retreat.  Lyle is also the trailhead for the delightful Klickitat Trail.
