Carson, which grew up around the Carson natural hotsprings and the historic St. Martin Hotel, is an old town at the southwest foot of Mt. Adams.  Just north of Highway 14, this is a community of small homes and an excellent plant nursery; a great jumping-off point for the many nearby hiking trails and home to a very new and beautiful 18-hole golf course.

 

Home Valley, right on Highway 14, is home to an "old-time" grocery store, a delightful community park and campground right on the Columbia River, and a much more up-scale RV resort.  The community itself gets lost in the trees, which is just the way the "homies" like it.
